We aim to develop safe, responsible and collaborative workplaces and contribute to and engage with the communities where we operate. Our success depends on our people – how they are selected, developed, challenged and rewarded.
Frigoglass is comprised of a diverse team of dedicated employees who work together in our multiple plants and offices across the globe. The capabilities, talent and commitment of our people are the key to our success and what drives our business and creates value. We are always looking for new ways to attract and retain our people and encourage active participation in the workplace through training and capacity building
A. Talent development & well-being:
We view training as an investment rather than as an expense. At Frigoglass, we try and create a learning culture where employees have the ability to practice their skills and stay on top of their professional fields of work. This directly contributes to the success of our company and the satisfaction of our customers. Every year, employees across the organization undertake several hours of compulsory and non-compulsory training in the areas of quality management, business improvement systems, risk management, compliance and health and safety. We use a combination of training approaches including in-house and external seminars, workshops, web-based training and individual coaching and mentoring. Moreover, we believe that promoting our employees’ wellbeing and being responsive to their needs, raises morale and increases motivation and commitment. In line with these objectives we are implementing a number of initiatives aimed at improving our employees’ physical and mental health.
B. Occupational health & safety:
We focus on maintaining high levels of safety across the business. Given the operational nature of our business, health and safety management is a key priority and our systems and processes are embedded across the organization from design and manufacturing through to delivery and installation. Our OH&S policy is applicable to all our employees at all levels within the organization. The main issues outlined in our OH&S policy include:
1. Identifying, assessing and minimizing the risks associated with all types of work activities.
2. Providing OH&S training and supervision, including safe work practices and emergency procedures.
3. Reviewing and assessing all workplace accidents and safety incidents as part of an integrated management review program.
4. Ensuring that all employees, visitors and contractors are fully aware of and observe the Frigoglass OH&S policy, standards and workplace safety rules.
5. Our Head Office and our Greek, Romanian, Russian and South African manufacturing plants are certified to the international health and safety management system, OHSAS 18001:2007.
C. Diversity & equal opportunity:
The Frigoglass approach to employment is one that is equal and fair to all employees. We abide by our Code of Business Conduct which supports our commitment to providing equal opportunities in the workplace irrespective of race, color, religion, ethnicity, gender, national origin, disability, age and sexual orientation.
D. Human rights & labor standards:
Frigoglass complies with the principles of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Labor Organization. Frigoglass’ labor relations policy regulates all labor relations issues and helps to ensure compliance with national and international laws and regulations. All our employees have the freedom to join trade unions and all our sites abide by local labor standards and legislation. The Company’s labor relations policy strictly forbids child labor or forced labor in all of our operations.
