As a global supplier of beverage coolers, our commitment is to meet the needs and requirements of our customers by designing and producing top-quality, innovative products while continuing to reduce their environmental impact. We recognize the impact on the environment from the use of our products, and addressing environmental efficiency is a priority both for us and our customers.

Product quality: Delivering consistently high quality and safe products to our customers is one of our key objectives. It helps to ensure high customer satisfaction as well as long-term prosperity for the company. Quality is achieved through an established culture of uncompromising commitment to the highest standards, and a sustained focus on constantly improving our products to exceed customers’ requirements. At Frigoglass, we have set high standards for product quality and safety. All products are required to pass quality assurance, hence increasing the integrity of our products in the market and providing us with a unique competitive advantage that will sustain our business growth potential. Quality tests are applied throughout the entire product life cycle including R&D and certification, manufacturing, storage, distribution, supply and use.

Improving energy efficiency across our range of coolers. Energy use associated with the operation of our ICMs often makes up the most significant proportion of our customers’ total carbon footprint – in some cases from 40% to 60% of their overall footprint – so addressing energy efficiency is a priority. Frigoglass pioneered the development of green commercial refrigeration and has continued to invest heavily in this area.

Reducing the need for maintenance. We have been long working on further improving product engineering as well as specifying and using superior, top-quality components. As a result of this work, we have developed coolers which require substantially less maintenance. This translates not only in a reduced total cost of ownership, but also in an overall reduction of a unit’s energy consumption and, therefore, of indirect emissions throughout its lifecycle.

Product recyclability. Our goal is to reduce materials use and recycle as much as possible. We aim to achieve this by developing products that use fewer materials and which are engineered in such way so as to facilitate disassembly and subsequent recyclability. Frigoglass complies fully with the EU Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The purpose of the WEEE Directive is to contribute to the environmentally-sound recovery and disposal of electrical and electronic equipment. Users wishing to dispose of ICMs can deliver the units to appropriate recycling companies. To facilitate disposal, Frigoglass has agreements with various such companies.

Product life cycle analysis. Conducting a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as an integral part of our sustainability strategy helps us identify all major-impact contributors. It also allows us to focus our activities on those areas with the most sizeable effect on reducing overall environmental impact. The assessment follows the ISO 14040 framework and principles and evaluates our product’s environmental impact from “cradle-to-grave”. The LCA is a tool used to identify, quantify and compare the total environmental impact of a given product from the design and development stage, to the manufacturing process, use of the product and all the way through to the final disposal of the unit. The modeling and analysis of data is completed using an advanced LCA program. This program provides a user interface for the collection of data and an LCA output calculator that can be used to explore variations associated with a number of ICM models which are manufactured and distributed from and across a variety of locations. The LCA calculator is a tool that can be used across all functions and departments in order to identify opportunities for efficiencies throughout all stages of a product’s life cycle.

Customer engagement. Customer satisfaction is a key driver in our business model. Engaging with our customers on environmental issues and seeking their feedback on innovation helps us to continually develop and reinvent our products and services – for example, our unique integrated Services program.

Customer satisfaction through the continuous improvement of our service and product offering is a key driver in our business model. Since 2009 we have systematically been collecting feedback from our customers and actively and effectively dealt with complaints through established cross functional processes. As a result customer complaints ratios and overall customer satisfaction levels have been dramatically improved.
